Individual Citizen/Resident

I, as an individual residing in this community, in full recognition of the importance of K-12 education to our community’s quality of life, our region’s economic health, and to the individual success of each student, enthusiastically adopt this Community Compact in demonstration of my support of public education within the Washoe County School District. As an individual I will commit to those areas of support below:

-Instill among my family, friends and associates the importance to our community of the academic success of the children within our community
-Emphasize to others the ample opportunities that exist to communicate and interact with their children’s teachers and administrators to ensure that their children are on the “pathway to graduation”
-Understand and emphasize to others the importance of WCSD’s Infinite Campus to monitor their children’s school assignments and activities on a regular basis and remind others of the various methods of accessing Infinite Campus.
-Volunteer, as my time and resources allow, to work with the Education Alliance and its many partnership/volunteer programs
-Volunteer, as my time and resources allow, to work with the many program opportunities within the school district for mentoring and/or tutoring students, for assisting with reading, literacy, and mathematics programs, and for participating in other student or school programs (Math Counts, Academic Olympics, Campus Kids, etc.)
-Volunteer, as my time and resources allow, to serve on school or district committees that benefit education (Parent Involvement Council/Committees, Information Technology Advisory Group, Bond Oversight or Technical Committees, etc)
-Contribute surplus materials, supplies, credits, or donations to the “Education Warehouse” program that provides teachers and schools with needed supplies for classroom work Establish a scholarship and/or recognition program for students and/or teachers in full coordination with the District.
-In the spirit of improving individual student achievement and conduct and District graduation and proficiency rates, I commit to the above checked activities.
