Fraternal and Faith Based

Our organization, in full recognition of the importance of K-12 education to our community’s quality of life, our region’s economic health, and to the individual success of each student, enthusiastically adopts this Community Compact in demonstration of our support of public education within the Washoe County School District. As an organization we will commit to those areas of support checked below:

-Instill in our members, both as parents and as non-parents, the responsibility for the academic success of the children of our community
-Emphasize to member parents the ample opportunities to communicate and interact with their children(s) teachers and administrators to ensure that their children are on the “pathway to graduation”
-Emphasize to member parents the importance of WCSD’s Infinite Campus to monitor their children’s school assignments and activities on a regular basis and remind employee parents of the various methods of accessing Infinite Campus.
-Participate in Partners-in-Education by adopting a school and establishing with the Principal of the adopted school a program of involvement
-Notify members of program opportunities within the school district for mentoring and or tutoring students, for assisting with reading, literacy, and mathematics programs, and for participating in other student or school programs (Math Counts, Academic Olympics, Campus Kids, etc.)
-Notify Members of opportunities to serve on school or district committees that benefit education (Parent Involvement Council/Committees, ITAG, Bond Oversight or Technical Committees, etc)
-Contribute surplus materials, supplies, credits, or donations to the “Education Warehouse” program which provides teachers and schools with needed supplies for classroom work Monitor the extent of member participation in the above activities and provide the Community Compact Administrator with data (members and employees involved, hours expended, materials donated, etc.) annually
-In the spirit of improving individual student achievement and conduct and District graduation and proficiency rates, I commit our organization to the above checked activities.
